Global initiatives & external evaluations

International initiatives in which PRONEXUS participates

As part of our efforts to address sustainability issues, the Group is a member of international initiatives and responds to surveys conducted by ESG rating agencies.

  • United Nations Global Compact
    (Signed in April 2022)
  • Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
    (Declared support in October 2023)

Ten principles related to human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption advocated by the United Nations

PRONEXUS has signed the United Nations Global Compact and has declared that we will work to uphold the following 10 principles.

Human rights

1. Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and

2. make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Labor

3. Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;

4. the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;

5. the effective abolition of child labor; and

6. the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

Environment

7. Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

8. undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

9. encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anti-corruption

10. Businesses should work against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.

External ESG evaluation

As part of our efforts to address sustainability issues, we are strengthening our information disclosure, centered on the Sustainability Committee, and have received evaluations from the following ESG rating agencies.

CDP

A non-profit organization established in London in 2000.It provides a global information disclosure platform for companies and local governments in the fields of climate change, water security, deforestation risk and commodities, and the information it collects is used by investors, companies and national governments.
2023 rating: C

A score of A to D is given as an indicator of progress in “environmental stewardship.”(The score for companies that do not respond is F.)Companies that receive the highest score of A in the CDP questionnaire (“A List companies”) are recognized as advanced companies in this field.

FTSE Russell

Established in 1995 and a member of the London Stock Exchange Group.In addition to calculating various indices, including ESG indices, it provides various information and analytical services for institutional investors, such as ESG ratings and other data and analytical tools.
PRONEXUS has been responding to this survey since 2021.
2022 score: 1.9 (2021 score 1.6)
*Average score for Japanese companies: 2.5 (based on approx. 1,300 companies)

EcoVadis

Since its establishment in 2007, EcoVadis has grown to become the world’s largest and most trusted sustainability rating agency, providing sustainability evaluations for more than 100,000 companies.
PRONEXUS has been responding to this survey since 2022.
